Interesting lectures
Homoglobiini arranges a lecture series on saturday 26th of april. Preliminary programme: PhD Pekka Santtila from Åbo Akademi and University of Turku lectures at 12-13 about biological psychology, talking about genetic effects on potential on homosexual response and the challenges that this places on present definitions on homosexuality. FM, researcher Tom Linkinen from University of Turku speaks of the cultural history of homosexuality at 13-14. Sexuality councellor and midwife Katriina Bildjuschkin talks about relationships and their associated problems at 14-15. These lectures will be held at Turkusali at Ylioppilastalo A. The program may still get extended. Highly interesting lectures are to be expected. Turun opiskelevat vihreät – the green students of Turku have a seminar on sexual minorities and legislation during the same weekend (fri 25.4 – sat 26.4). We will update this with more information as we know more.
Seminaari yhteistyössä Tovin kanssa
Homoglobiini järjestää HG järjestää 25.-26.4. seksuaali- ja sukupuolivähemmistöseminaarin yhdessä Turun opiskelevien Vihreiden (Tovi) kanssa. Tovi hoitaa perjantain järjestelyt ja HG lauantain. Lisäksi perjantai-iltana on Setan bileet Klubilla.

- 12.00 FT Pekka Santtila Åbo Akademista ja Turun Yliopistosta luennoi biologisen psykologian alalta perinnöllisyyden osuudesta homoseksuaalisuuteen ja tämän aiheuttamista haasteista homoseksuaalisuuden määrittelyssä.

Bar boats are calling – meeting by the riverside
The second meeting in May is taking place by the River Aura, and more precisely on the bar boats. There are several of those moored by the River between Aura Bridge and downstream. We are meeting on the Theatre Bridge at 19 and then decide on which boat we are going. The weather is going to be quite chilly, only 14 degrees, so make sure you put some warm clothes on!

Seta’s party at Klubi
Turku Seta is throwing yet another party on May 31st. The party place is – as always – Klubi (Humalistonkatu 8 ). The music starts at 22 and it will go on till 04. This time ‘the man behind the wheels’ is our president, spinning the records under his DJ Josba alias. Some summer tunes are coming up, as well as some oldies and hottest new club tunes.
Showhat
Tisdagen 29.4. kl 19 går vi och ser på dragshowen Showhat i Linnateatteri, Slottsgatan 31.
Biljetterna kostar 18 euro för studerande och 22 euro för övriga. Anmäl dig senast 31.3 till styrelsen, eftersom vi har ett begränsat antal biljetter.
OVI’s Anniversary Party in Helsinki on March 28th
Helsinki-based lgbt student organization OVI is throwing an 6th anniversary party in Helsinki on March 28th and they’ve also invited Homoglobiini to join them. The official invitation goes as follows:
“OVI’s very relaxed, casual and informal anniversary party will be held
on March 28th, 6 pm at Benita Hall, Leppäsuonkatu 9 B. Sign on by
sending an email to Anni.Forselius(a)helsinki.fi by March 21st. The food
served will be Indian vegetarian. Let us know if you have any allergies
or follow a special diet.
After this exquisite candlelit supper we will spend the night
socializing, playing SingStar and watching movies (bring your own!). The
price is 5 euros for the alcoholic menu (includes one glass of wine,
tell us in your mail if you prefer red or white), 4 euros for a

Telehpy’s Moomin Sitsit @ Otaniemi, Espoo
Espoo-based lgbt student organization Telehpy organizes a ‘sitsit’ on Saturday, April 5th.
The official invitation goes as follows:
“Telehpy organizes a sitsit (a dinner party with food, drink and lots of
singing) on Saturday, April 5th in the Takkakabinetti of Jämeräntaival 3
A. The event begins at 7 pm. The theme of the sitsit is the popular Finnish
children’s book “Comet in Moominland” (consult Wikipedia or your local library
for more info). A three-course meal will be served.
